| On Sunday Sept.
25, 1992 Ted Gord ran BC's first five. The Tacoma driver's
5.999/227.401mph run came in the first round of Saturday's
National Dragster Showdown against Mike Cofini. Gord went on to
defeat Tiffani Hyland that day in the final. On Sunday Gord went
on to the WDRS win running three more five second runs including
a round one Low ET of the event 5.92 over Leo Grocock, followed
by a 5.97 bye over a broken John Shoemaker then a final round
win over Rick Santos 5.95 to a 6.06. |
