Just got a phone call from Brad with AHRA and he has informed me that due to poor weather conditions in Calgary in the past month, the track has been unable to pave to the 8th mile, the Calgary leg of the REUNION TOUR has been postponed, hopefully until August but no guarantees there.
He asked me to spread the word.

I specifically asked if the Ashcroft event was going to be a go, and he said, "although I have not been to the facility, I am told that track is golden and we are good to go"

Well that is disappointing for Calgary, and AHRA. I wonder if it is possible to organize something at Ashcroft for that weekend at this late time? Give the booked cars and competitors who had made plans to be there somewhere to go?

I posted this link and info on the "Calgary Rumor" thread in the AHRA forum and they took it off and locked the thread. Thought I would pass this on in their forum as we know how slow they are with updated info on their website. O'well, I tried to help with the new info provided here and they didn't like that.

Have a look on yellow bullet...more info there, looks like it was too good to be true afterall.

Race City is booked for the CDRA and a race will happen Fathers Day weekend with or without the AHRA.
More info will follow.

I raced at racecity last sat. and cars were running in the 9's without any abnormal problems considering temp. some of the street cars made 8 sec passes??? from what I have gathered our club will be putting the show on so please if you were planning on coming, bring your ride and test the skill of the racers on the other side of the pass. I have purchased a blind fold and some unknown knockout drug so I can get the misses over the mountians.. hope to see you here . Rick Avery...Sharon Buckingham

eighth mile...right ??

We all race 1/4 mile except some of the pro cars will only be going 1/8 mile.

My car runs 10.2@132mph & I have no issues with the track condition. On Sat, I raced against a low 9 second street car & the tracked straight & true.

We are bringing Vern Christy from Toronto to help with track preparation. We will begin washing and vacuuming the track Friday night at midnight and will have the same outstanding traction Vern gave us while he was Track Manager a few years back. We will show AHRA what a mistake they made.

Oh yea, one other thing, be prepared for the same thing.

AHRA pulled the plug on Calgary the same day their deposit on their track rental was due. There was never any concerns from them prior to that. Same crap as they pulled in Louisanna.

I was very surprised that they asked ME to spread the word. We, at Thundermountain, opted out of this year to see what happened with this year, and there were alot of us who were VERY displeased with that decision,,,,,,,,,Given all this "info", we will eat our words.
Be interesting to see what happens there, as Brad specifically told me that Ashcroft, although he hadnt been there, was Golden and good to go. (as posted before)
And so the wait game begins.

Toronto Motorsport Park has pulled out from the AHRA schedule now. They are going to run their own race on the days that were supposed to be the "Reunion Tour" dates.

It is still on the schedule for TMP and AHRA. GregH: Are you with the TMP Management?

Nope, I'm with the CDRA(Calgary) but I read about TMP on Yellow Bullet & then phoned TMP. Direct from the TMP office, there will be no AHRA involvement in the July 2 & 3 race.

Wow...although AHRA seems to be kind of fading away, they have announced a new event at Midland Tx. Maybe need another race to cancel?
